#SwipetoSpice: Maybelline New York Baby Lips Spiced Up Lip Balm- Review, swatches and price

Women and girls are obsessed with Maybelline Baby Lips  all over the world. You can imagine the success of these lip balms with this fact. After a great success of Maybelline Baby Lips Color Lip Balm and Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop, Maybelline New York had introduced some spiced up flavours with some dark shades of lip balms in the name of Spiced up lip balm, especially for Indian taste. These lip balms have SPF 20 sun protection and 12 hours moisture protection for the lips. Today I’m here with these newly launched spiced up beauties.

Ingredients

Not mentioned on the packaging.

In the mirror of my own experience

Packaging

The packaging is just same as the other Baby Lips lip balms; They come in  a plastic color-coordinated tube with a small cap that shuts securely. The stick can be twisted up and down. The shade name is mentioned on the body of the tube as well. I really love the ‘Electro Pop’ packaging, can't say why they reverted to the previous one.

Shades and Smell
The shades, I’m here with, are Spicy Cinnamon and Tropical Punch. The Spicy Cinnamon is a pretty dark brown shade with slight red tone. The shade doesn’t much visible after swiping it on the lips. Usually, I prefer a natural lip balm so I love this shade.

The other shade Tropical Punch is a bright pink which is not as pigmented as Berry Sherbet (the third new shade). It looks slightly pink on lips after several swipes. I don’t like bright shade lip balms especially in summer so this light tinted lip balm is very helpful for me.
The Spiced Up range has three lovely warm shades to go well with the Indian skin tones. These lip balms have a wonderful fragrance. The fragrance is a sweet-spicy aroma that is really delicious, and different from the regular Baby Lips. It also has an addition of SPF 20 to protect the lips from sun’s harmful rays.

Texture and pigmentation

The textures of Maybelline Bay Lips Spiced Up Lip Balms are soft and creamy. The pigmentation is perfect for daily use, great for those who prefer some light subtle tints on their lips.

Application & Effect

As you knowI don't apply tinted lip balms when I stay home but these are always in my handbag for using outside. They both apply smoothly on the lips and give a fuller and healthier effect immediately.  Both moisturize the lips pretty well. The moisture is buildable. The lip balms feel very light in weight that is really nice. These are not at all sticky.  The best part of these lip balms is that they have SPF 20 so I feel safe when I’m going out. My lips are usually not very dry or chapped so can't say much about their effects on those types of lips.

The staying power is good; they stay about for 2 hours easily on my lips. They don’t stay up to 12 hours as per brand claims.  They keep the lips moisturised maximum ¾ hours including food and water in summer. The period will reduce in winter. The shades start to fade away after two hours but leave a light and natural tint on the lips that I like.

Good points

Bad points

The packaging not as cute as the 'Electro Pop' packaging

Staying power could have been better.

Finally...

Overall, Maybelline New York Baby Lips Spiced Up Lip Balms are another great launch from Maybelline. These are must have in Indian makeup vanity. I'll definitely recommend them to my readers. These are not only with a good quality but also quite pocket-friendly.
